Okay, I forgot to mention that right after Isaac went to work this morning, la Senora Doris me llamo!!!!
Yes! Mrs. Doris from Cusco called my cell phone. She called my in-laws this morning (I guess?) and got my number from them. It was like someone pinched my heart! She has called me 3 times since we’ve been home telling me how much she misses me & asking me to pray to Jehovah to help her. I asked her about how her study is going & although it’s not regular as before she is still in contact with the sister that I asked to visit her.
I can’t wait until we go back to Cusco to visit next Spring, to see all the friends & students that we left behind!!

A note to you! January 19, 2011
I just wanted to tell you all how much joy this blog brought me! When we were in Cusco it kept me sane… mostly knowing that it was being read & reading your comments that reassured me that we were missed & the encouragement to keep moving forward in our assignment. I looked forward to blogging every day… although towards the end of our stay in Cusco I barely blogged (due to sickness & a few other factors) but I really enjoyed doing it. It made the whole experience become even more special relating what our day-to-day life was like & the experiences we had in the ministry.
So WordPress came up with this stat review below & I wanted to share it with you all….
THANK YOU so much for being a part of this blog & for the interchange of encouragement that we received from you all!!!

Saludos January 10, 2011
No podemos imaginar dejarlo.
Cuidense mucho.
Con mucho carino y amor,
jenny y isaac
A month with friends! October 31, 2010
October 5th-29th: We had the privilege of having Keren and Eric here visiting us from Tennessee! This entry is actually a tad bit late (as usual)…
Eric pioneered this month with Isaac. So they had lots of great service
experiences and he got a taste of our difficult territory with its ferocious (NOT exaggerating) dogs & stairs. Keren and I stayed busy going on Bible studies, doing jewelry, domestic duties amidst the steadily increasing rain always dashing to bring in wet clothes from the line (ring a bell Vanessa?), making trips to La Bondiet, shopping and just visiting and catching up since we haven’t seen each other for over a year.
It was the best!! We couldn’t have spent our last month in Cusco any better way.
Of course we couldn’t miss out on Machu Picchu!
For our fourth time… it was incredible! We had a great trip; stayed in Aguas Calientes for two nights; toured the Sacred Valley and stopped off at this neat arts market in Pisac. Eric and Isaac hiked up Wayna Picchu and snapped some amazing photos of Machu Picchu and surrounding mountains. It really is quite breathtaking…just being there… so serene. One can’t help but be reminded of God’s AMAZING creative powers. Keren and I had a lovely time touring the ruins while the guys hiked. To add to the tornado & gas explosion… we quietly sat and watched a group of llamas graze the grounds at Machu Picchu.
We were also able to spend some time getting to know out new Italian friends. Cusco just isn’t the same without some Italians running around! They invited us over for some ‘authentic’ Italian food… as real as it gets in Cusco due to lack of good pasta & cheese among other things. We had them over a couple of times too. Once they brought Nutella so I made a batch of crepes (first time in over a yr). We had finger foods another night & played some good-ole Pictionary.
So that was our month in pocas palabras! I love you Keren! We love you guys! Thank you so much for coming all the way to Peru to see us! It was a blessing.
Buffet & Show October 27, 2010
We all went out last night to a restaurant called Don Antonio’s where they
have a show & dinner (buffet). We met the Italians, Paolo and Ruben, there as well.
They had a variety of typical dances all with some special sort of background of course. For one dance, the dancers wore these scary jungle creature costumes w/terribly ugly plastic
masks. Afterward they would go and scare everyone… one cat-type masked dancer particularly liked Keren! lol
A local peruvian band also played instrumental interpretations of various music
including Mozart and Beethoven. The music was very relaxing and unique. We all enjoyed ourselves very much! The food was pretty good too! Good salad bar… free piscos…
Long overdue update October 17, 2010
Yes I realize it’s been over two months since my last real post and I am terribly sorry!! We have had so much going on. Besides life here in Cusco we took a trip to Lima, my pops came to visit us in September and now we have Keren & Eric, our friends from home, visiting for a month!
For those of you who don’t know yet we are coming back to the States! Yay! We have a little surprise on its way… We’re going to have a baby in May! Yep! I know it was totally unexpected but very much welcome! We see it as a blessing from Jehovah.
We already have our tickets bought and if all goes to plan we’ll be home on November 15th! Just a month from tomorrow. We are very excited about all the changes ahead. A little sad at the same time because we’re leaving so many behind that mean so much to us. Also, we would have liked to see our Bible students to baptism but they will be left in good hands to the friends here.

So until that time I will be trying to blog more frequently about our last month here. Again I am sorry I’ve neglected this journal of mine for so long & its faithful followers! I have just been distracted or it may have been better attributed to laziness.
We love you and cannot wait to see you all!
Magdalena’s Talk October 9, 2010
Our Bible student, Senora Magdalena, gave her first talk on the Theocratic Ministry School on September the 30th!! She did wonderful. It brought us great joy to see her make this step in her spiritual progress. And I felt privileged to help her give it.

Predicando por el hermoso valle sacrado August 9, 2010
Saturday we finally made it out to Calca with our friend Mario… as I’ve written before he’s also serving as a need greater & has been living in the Sacred Valley for the past 6 months. SO… we finally went after many invitations!
It was so gorgeous there! We LOVED it!!! We worked with the invitations for the District Convention coming up here in Cusco so we were able to cover quite a bit of territory.
We preached in the country about 20 minutes outside of Calca. First we worked this little town called Wayapampa… Then walked FOREVER… like a couple of kilometers to another pueblo called Urkios (sp?) and it was just as pretty.. well not particularly the town itself but the surroundings! LOL Thankfully we stopped to rest (once) and ate lunch. We stayed until 3:00pm then headed back to Cusco.
It was so serene…
A Nice start to a great DAY! August 3, 2010
I started service this morning at 7am at plaza San Francisco…
The weather was like how it is on a fresh, spring morning…lovely… The park was pretty empty but I managed. I noticed a police officer kind of following me around ~literally~ as I walked around from bench to bench he would follow me, repeatedly glance over at me & pace back and forth in front of me. It was totally obvious & it kind of made me uncomfortable so I worked up the nerve to get up and talk to him! Surprisingly he was really nice & interested in knowing where I was from & what I was doing here. This led into a nice conversation & I was able to leave him the latest magazines… just the right ones… with the Awake explaining who we are, what we do and so on. He gladly accepted them & said he would read them.
About 30 minutes later a sister arrived so I had a partner to preach with. She was talking to this man sitting on a bench so I was patiently waiting on her to finish when this older woman walks by us, then turns around, stops, looks at the sister then directly at me, watches us for like 30 seconds straight, returns to where we are & sits down on the bench (which only fit 3, I was standing). The park was still pretty empty so there were plenty of free benches but it seemed as if she singled us out & wanted to listen in. So the sister finished & we left but seconds later returned to talk this woman. So she says to us: “Please sit down. I would like to hear what you have to say. I’ve been praying to God to help me read the Bible & I can’t anymore since my eyesight is failing me.” This led into a real nice discussion. Although short-lived (her friend arrived to get her) we were able to give a witness!
I LOVE mornings at the plaza! And miss my plaza companion: Vanessa!
